Reap Rejoicing! Fall Stewardship Renewal
This fall St. Gregory's Church will journey together on our Stewardship Renewal. This year's theme is "Reap Rejoicing", a reference to the verse Paul gives us in 2 Corinthians, Chapter 9:
Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
Why the Need for a Stewardship Renewal?
To be a Christian Disciple should be intentional. In the same way we make regular doctors appointments to monitor our health or service our vehicles to ensure they are running at their best, this season will allow all of us to pause, reflect, and intentionally check on our stewardship practices. Over the next several weeks, we will be regularly sharing tools and providing opportunities for you to take a look at your practices and recognize opportunities for growth.
Who is this for?
Everyone! Children, Teens, Single people, married people, people with children, people without children, empty-nesters - Everyone can benefit from this season of contemplation!

Stewardship Committee
Do you have a heart for Stewardship? Consider being a part of our Stewardship Committee.
The Stewardship Committee assists the pastor in developing Stewardship as a way of life in the parish, an attitude of the mind and heart that is expressed in action; emphasizing that all people, things, and experiences are gifts from God. An active parish Stewardship Committee is an important and necessary element in designing, implementing and maintaining the parish Stewardship process. This committee is instrumental in assisting the pastor in the areas of education and formation, facilitation, communication, implementation, follow-up and evaluation of the parish Stewardship process.
Assistance is needed with:
- Coordinating our Events
- Coordinating our Regular mailings
- Arranging/Recommending Lay Witness Speakers from our Parish
- Communication with Our Ministries
- Data Entry
- Contact with Parishioners
- and more!

Love One Another
Within each human person, there is intrinsic value and purpose. We were each intentionally loved into being. Every day, every hour that we have on this earth is a gift from God. As disciples of Christ, we are each called to live according to his example - to be living stewards of the new commandment, "love one another as I have loved you".
Just as we are blessed with financial gifts, the Lord has entrusted each of us with certain talents that serve to build the Kingdom here on earth in one way or another. We are called and chosen to utilize our talents and share the gift of our time to extend the light of Christ in the world.
We invite you to explore the many opportunities within our community of faith to share the gifts of your time and talent.
"As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace." ~1 Peter 4:10
Give
A foundational principle of Christian Stewardship is gratitude. The Christian Disciple recognizes and receives God's gifts and shares these gifts out of love for the Father and one another.
We invite you to reflect on how the Lord has blessed you and ask you to prayerfully consider offering a portion of those blessings. Your financial support allows us to extend the light of Christ to the people of Virginia Beach and beyond through our ministries, social concerns efforts, and celebration of the sacraments. Thank you for your faithful, generous support. May God continue to bless you in abundance for your kindness.
"Consider this: whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each must do as already determined, without sadness or compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."~2 Cor 9:6-7

CATHOLIC DIOCESE OF RICHMOND 2026 ANNUAL APPEAL
You and I are called to share our blessings to build up the Body of Christ and extend the Kingdom of God. One of the ways that we plant seeds for this purpose is by supporting the Annual Diocesan Appeal.
When you contribute to the Appeal, you are sharing your gifts with those in your local community as well as those you may not ever see. The sacrifice you make when supporting the Appeal allows the harvest to be reaped by many.

“Take some of the first fruits of the harvest and set them in front of the altar of the Lord your God.”

LUMEN CHRISTI LEGACY SOCIETY
Legacy Giving encourages parishioners to name our parish as a beneficiary in their will and /or estate plans. Bequests are the most common type of legacy gift and is a testament of your faith as a Catholic and the significance St. Gregory the Great Church has had in your life.
The Lumen Christi Legacy Society was established to recognize and thank supporters who have named Saint Gregory the Great Church in their estate plans. Members of the Lumen Christi Legacy Society are led by their faith and values to preserve our Catholic heritage and ensure everlasting giving for the future.
Types of Gifts:
Gift from a Will or Living Trust
A gift from a will or living trust are two of the most common ways to create a legacy gift for the benefit of the parish. A bequest may include cash, specific property, or a share of the estate.
Gifts of Stock and Appreciated Assets
Donating stocks, bonds, or mutual funds directly to St. Gregory the Great Church can significantly increase your tax deduction and the amount of income our parish receives.
Gifts from your Retirement Plan
Gifts of retirement assets are another simple way to leave a gift by naming St. Gregory the Great Church as beneficiary of a percentage or the full amount of your Individual Retirement Account, 401k or other qualified retirement plan.
Gifts of Life Insurance
There are many ways in which life insurance policies can be used to make a contribution, all of which provide tax deductions and the opportunity to make a more substantial gift than otherwise possible. It is easy to name St. Gregory the Great Church as the beneficiary of a policy or transfer ownership of a paid-up policy to our parish.
