This is the process for children age 7 and older to enter the Catholic Church!
The Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) is the process by which an unbaptized person, or person validly baptized into another Christian tradition, enters the Catholic Church through Baptism or Profession of Faith.
OCIA Adapted for Children seeks to offer this process in a manner appropriate for children. This process is available for any child 7 years of age and older. Children participating in the OCIA process enter the Church and receive the Sacraments of Baptism (if they are not already Baptized), Confirmation, and Eucharist at the Easter Vigil.
Any child younger than 7 years of age may enter the Church through "infant" baptism relying on the faith of the parents.
All children participating in the OCIA process must:
* Be enrolled in the PREP program at Saint Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
* Be a registered member of our parish.
* Participate in the Rites associated with the OCIA process and retreats associated with the Sacraments.
* Submit a birth certificate if unbaptized.
* Submit a certificate of baptism if validly baptized into another Christian tradition.
* Submit an OCIA Adapted for Children form.
* Submit a Godparent/Sponsor attestation form.
